Rusteam ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Rusteam website, services, and related applications (the "Service"). Rusteam is solely owned and operated by an individual based in Australia.

Information we collect

To create a Rusteam account, users must sign up by linking a Steam account. Steam linking is mandatory for account creation.

We may collect the following information:

• Steam account data such as SteamID, username, avatar, and publicly available profile information
• Rusteam account details including username, encrypted password, profile settings, and preferences
• Optional information provided by users, including playstyle, region, availability, and communication preferences
• Usage data such as interactions with features, pages viewed, and timestamps
• Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.

How we use information

We use collected information to provide and operate the Service, create and manage user accounts, verify authenticity and reduce misuse or duplicate accounts, enable user discovery, matching, and social features, display user-selected public profile information, maintain platform security and integrity, improve functionality, performance, and user experience, and communicate important service-related notices.

Passwords are stored using secure hashing methods and are never stored in plain text.

Login and authentication

Users must sign up by linking a Steam account. After account creation, users may log in using their Rusteam username and password without needing to authenticate through Steam on each login.

This does not remove the requirement for an active linked Steam account.

Public profile information

Certain profile information is public by default, including username, Steam avatar, playstyle information, and reputation metrics. Users control which optional details they provide.

Users are responsible for the information they choose to display publicly.

Disclosure of information

We do not sell personal information.

We may disclose information to service providers assisting with hosting, analytics, authentication, or payments, where required by Australian law or lawful authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of Rusteam or its users.

Data storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Data may be stored on servers located inside or outside Australia.

Account deletion and retention

Users may request account deletion. Some information may be retained where required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or enforcement of platform rules.
